Arch. Georges Bechara is a Lebanese Architect and Educator with a career marked by significant contributions to architectural practice, education, and expert consultancy within Lebanon and beyond. His trajectory reflects a commitment to both the practical execution of architectural projects and the nurturing of future generations of architects.

ACADEMIC FOUNDATION AND EARLY CAREER

Bechara's foundational education commenced at Collège de La Sagesse -Achrafieh, culminating in his graduation in 1978. Subsequently, he pursued advanced studies at the Lebanese University Faculty of Fine Arts and Architecture II, where he earned a Master’s Degree in architecture with honors in 1986.
In 1987, Bechara established Architect’s Group Office in Lebanon, a firm that has also served as a training ground for aspiring architects. Many interns and young professionals have honed their skills, gaining invaluable experience that helped them become the architects they are today. A year later, his expertise earned him recognition from major financial institutions, leading to his appointment as a court-appointed expert for Bank Byblos, the Central Bank, Bank Libano-Française, Blom Bank, and Cedrus Bank.

DEDICATION TO ARCHITECTURAL PEDAGOGY

From 1991 to 2011, he imparted his knowledge and experience to students at the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK), where he taught pivotal courses such as Architecture Studio, Descriptive Geometry, and Space Perception. His pedagogical approach emphasized the integration of theoretical principles with practical application, fostering critical thinking and design innovation among his students. In addition, Bechara has been a professor in the Lebanese University in 1995 and is still tutoring to the present day. As a professor, he instructs both Architecture and Interior Studios, shaping the architectural sensibilities of countless students. His commitment extends beyond the classroom, as he has also served as a representative for university professors, advocating academic excellence and faculty welfare.

PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE AND INTERNATIONAL IMPACT

Bechara's architectural practice extends beyond the borders of Lebanon, demonstrating his capacity to navigate diverse cultural and contextual challenges. His portfolio includes projects in Côte d'Ivoire, Nigeria, and Iraq, showcasing his adaptability and ability to deliver impactful architectural solutions in varied environments.
